Clinical Reflexology

The ethos underpinning reflexology is that there are certain points or “reflex areas” on the feet, hands and face that are connected energetically to certain organs and body parts through energy channels in the body. When pressure is applied to these areas by the reflexologist it is said to remove energy blockages in turn promoting health in the related corresponding body area. Reflexology balances all the body systems to promote healing and optimum health and can be beneficial for both adults and children. Reflexology is preventative health care it can reduce stress and induce deep relaxation, improve circulation, cleanses the body of toxins and impurities, balance the whole system, and revitalise energy.

What should I expect?

If you’ve never experienced reflexology before, you might not know what to expect. At the start of your initial session, I will carry out a confidential consultation to help identify how reflexology may be beneficial to you and we will discuss any potential issues you may be experiencing. You’ll then remove your socks and relax in a specially adapted reclining chair or a massage couch so I can perform a full foot treatment helping identify any imbalances you may have. This gives me a clearer understanding of your overall health so I can design a bespoke treatment plan for your needs. Don’t worry if you have ticklish or sensitive feet I will greet and warm the feet up prior to treatment in order to help desensitize them.

Reflexology is personal so experiences can vary. Some clients report deep relaxation others to tingling in the body, calmness, lightness and even warmth as energy moves from the practitioner’s pressure to certain and specific parts of the body.

After treatments, most people feel a deep sense of relaxation and calmness and it’s not unusual to fall asleep during a session. In addition, people report an improvement in their overall health and wellbeing as well as a reduction in problematic symptoms.
